Missed Ohio’s Statewide Education Conference? Read this.

The Statewide Education Conference was a tremendous success. More than 2,000 educators spent two days learning about and discussing the most urgent issues that will shape the future of learning for Ohio’s 1.8 million students. This year, ODE  also has made unprecedented efforts to make content from the conference available to those of you who could not attend in person. Our Twitter account at www.twitter.com/oheducation enjoyed unprecedented interaction – you can read real-time posts and commentary by simply entering the #ohedconf hashtag in the search field on our Twitter homepage.

ODE staff also prepared brief write-ups of many breakout sessions such as the Third Grade Reading Guarantee and Student Learning Objectives,  which you can read on the conference blog at http://ohioedconference.wordpress.com/.   Also you will find photos and brief videos from the conference.

In addition, you can read summaries and a compilation of online discussions for many sessions at our new Storify feed at  http://storify.com/OhioEdDept/ohio-statewide-education-conference-2012 . This service gives you a flavor for how audience members were reacting to speakers online.

In the coming days we will also be making available online videos of all conference keynote speeches plus several . Stay tuned.
